CASRA Systems builds the website, backend, database, booking engine and AI operators that a service business runs on, as one system they own rather than nine tools they rent. Every sales call opens on a working concept of the client's own site, built before anyone speaks. See what we build.

Designing from scratch instead of buying a theme is most of why clients pick us over the cheaper option, so this role is closer to the centre of the business than a design seat usually is.

You work in the browser and close enough to the code that what you draw is what ships. We are not looking for someone to hand over a flat file and hope.

What it pays

Not commission. Structure differs by engagement and is agreed in writing before you start, and it is the first thing we talk about on a call rather than the last.

What we are looking for

  • A portfolio that did not come out of the same template as everybody else's.
  • Range: a barbershop and a law firm in the same week, and neither one gets the other's page.
  • You design in the browser, or close enough to it that the work survives implementation.
  • You can defend a decision, and drop it when somebody makes a better argument.
  • An understanding that a site here has to convert, not just photograph well.
  • You can work from an owner's own photographs and existing brand, not a mood board.

Week to week

  • Design the concept build that a closer opens the call on.
  • Take it through to the real thing once the client signs.
  • Own the visual system across the site, the dashboard and the emails.
  • Work with the engineer while it is being built, not before.
  • Say when something we are shipping looks generic, including our own work.

Not for you if

  • You want to hand over a flat file and move on.
  • Your portfolio is mostly dribbble shots that were never built.
  • You need a full brand brief before you can start.
